In the foggy scene of darkness and red, she couldn’t grasp what and why was she waking up blood-soaked. She heard shallow breathing, slowly fading, until the crickets chirped alone in the silence.

This is my first post in response to Trifecta Writing Challenge where writers are challenged to use a given word in an entry. This week’s word is Grasp (verb) which particularly means to lay hold of with the mind: Comprehend.
Wow — a dramatic intro! I’d be interested in finding out what’s next.
Thanks! I’d also be interested what’s next if this have been longer..
Welcome to Trifecta! We’re so glad you found us and took the plunge. This is a really great, super creepy response to the prompt. Waking up blood soaked? That’s either the start to or the end of a great story. Thanks for linking up. Don’t forget to come back and vote at the end of the challenge. There’s a countdown in our right sidebar.
Well, you guys really give us a challenge! As for this post, I never thought I can have these comments and it just inspired me to write more and challenge myself more. Thanks a lot for the nice words. =)
Well done…welcome to Trifecta challenges! I love them.
Yup! Me, too. I’m looking forward to the next words. Thanks!
Welcome to the Trifecta challenge! This is poignant and even though it’s just two lines, you’ve found the powerful centre of the scene. Well done!
I was actually afraid that I might not send the image I have in mind, but with the comments, I must have done it fair enough, right? Thanks!
Welcome to Trifecta! This captures the just-woke-up confused feeling well.
Haha! That feeling.. Although not with this kind of scene. Thanks!
Hello, new Trifectan!
This is an awesome first piece. We hope to see more from you in future challenges!
Thank you! I hope to write more pieces and learn from you trifectans at the same time. =)
Oh, that is *creepy*! Great job – I hope we see more of you at Trifecta!
Thanks! I don’t know but it’s the first thing that came up to mind when I read grasp. Haha!
